My Project

The main purpose of school-based occupational therapy is to assist students with engaging in and accessing their education in meaningful ways. Multiple factors may hinder students today, especially since the pandemic. As a result, many students lack coping skills to regulate which negatively affects their educational outcomes.

My students are the engineers, dentists, and teachers of the future.

I am requesting Liquid Floor Tiles, River Stones, a Trampoline, and more. Research has shown that having a safe structured sensory space where students can regulate and take breaks optimizes learning. In order to provide more sensory-based activities in the current OT space to students who have IEPs we need to add, update and replace equipment. The supplies that I have requested will ensure that my students have the necessary resources to build knowledge of their bodies, fine motor skills and hand strengthening. These supplies will help them regulate better in our school environment.
