Help me give my students activities and strategies to regulate their feelings and emotions during break time. The spinning and rocking chairs will allow the students to have activities when they need breaks during the school day.

My Project

The students in my class love to move and our break area in the classroom is lacking in options for the students to choose from. Sensory activities stimulate and help build cognitive skills while building on how a child interacts with the world.

Since a majority of the students love to move it would be amazing for the students to be able to choose to use the spinning or rocking chairs.

These activities will help the students improve their body awareness, spatial perception, muscle tone, coordination, balance, and motor planning.

In addition to these gross motor options, it would be great to have other options like the lap pads, piano floor mat, and discovery putty. Other important activities the kids will be able to use during this time are the emotion sorting activity and Mr. Potato Head. These social-emotional activities will allow the students to "check-in" with their feelings and see if these different break options change their emotions.
