Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, we have students with high sensory needs. We are hoping to create a sensory space within the case manager's classroom for the kiddos so they can have their sensory needs met in hopes they can refocus on learning.

With these items, the kiddos will have a way to clear their sensory overload and be able to gain life skill knowledge of academic skills.

These calming sensory items will provide our kiddos with an opportunity to regulate their sensory needs and refocus their attention on their classwork. A sensory space helps all children with special needs. Some kiddos struggle to cope with the world around them. Loud noises, climate changes, bright lights or rough patterns, are just some of the things that can cause distress. Kiddos will have the new sensory material available to them to help them de-stress and have their sensory needs met.
