As a special education teacher, I strive to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for my 6th-grade students. Many of my students benefit from sensory integration techniques and tools to help them focus, calm, and succeed in the classroom.
My wish is to design and establish a sensory room tailored specifically to the needs of middle school special education students, providing a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment that fosters academic success, social growth, and emotional well-being.
Your donation will directly support the purchase of sensory items such as fidget toys, calming lights, flexible seating options, and calming posters. These sensory items will help my students enhance their overall learning experience and develop essential life skills. Every donation, big or small, brings us closer to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where my students can thrive.
The fidget toys and tools will improve focus, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. The flexible seating options will enhance gross motor skills, balance, and coordination. The calming materials and textiles will reduce anxiety, stress, and promote relaxation.
