My Students

Every child has a story, but so do their shoes. They come with bright colors, brand new, and white and black rubber soles for the most part, but then you also have the students in the shoes they wore last year or their brother's/sister's hand me downs or whatever the shoe's story may be. I have looked at their shoes, and I have always been reminded, to put yourself in their shoes, walk a mile in their shoes.

Every year children bring a new gift to my life; this group will be the first group to embark on a new adventure with me, and I couldn't be excited to see how much of an impact I can make on this group of students.

My Project

I have been a huge believer in the power of sensory for several years. Several of my high school students are struggling learners with attention problems. I believe that sensory can have a valuable place in my classroom.

I want them to have sensory options available to enhance their learning experience in a meaningful and memorable way.

I have several students who enjoy having a sucker or hard candy when they are working independently. I have students who like to take notes in different markers. I have students who would utilize the fidget toys to help them focus. I think students would love these options and we will discover more ways with these tools to incorporate sensory into their daily learning.
