Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, 4th graders read the book , Cajas de cartón, and in 5th grade we read the second book, Senderos fronterizos. The books in 5th grade are falling apart. This project will allow all students to get a book with all the pages in it. Having a book that looks nice and has all its pages will help students stay engaged rather than having to share books.

This project also will allow me to have a class book set for my Spanish Language Development class.

I have not had a class set before and I would like to get one of the books that the English Language Development class reads so that the students can discuss the book together.

Lastly, many of my lower level and higher level books have been permanently borrowed by past students and I don't have enough variety on my bookshelf. The book sets will allow my student literature groups to have more variety in what they read.

This project will be a real help for reading in Spanish in my classroom.
