Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a variety of low to middle class ESL learners, many of whom traverse the US/Mexico border daily to get to school at our amazing STEM charter. They are lower level readers who utilize any and all learning strategies they can obtain. I’ll be lucky to loop with my students, who showed amazing progress on their personal and academic goals in 3rd grade. This PD opportunity will help me further meet their needs as collaborative and tenacious fourth graders.

My Project

I’m wanting to attend a professional development conference in San Antonio, TX to improve my classroom instruction, learn from other educators around the US, and get a chance to broaden my teaching methods. Your donations will help me cover the cost of hotel, registration, and transportation. By attending this conference I hope to bring back multiple teaching perspectives and classroom strategies to benefit my diverse group of ESL learners and have a huge impact on their second year of learning alongside me. Thank you I’m advance for any and all the help you can provide in making this opportunity a reality.
