I am fortunate to work in a classroom that varies in grade levels between kindergarten and fifth grade allowing for a wide variety of activities throughout our day. My class serves students with a range of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and specific learning disabilities.
The students in my class are brave, motivated, and eager to learn.
They are willing to try skills independently once verbally prompted or modeled for them. I provide lessons that assist these students in learning functional skills while receiving instruction on our extended core curriculum standards.
My Project
I am excited to enroll in courses that will allow me to gather new and engaging strategies and activities that I can bring back to use with my students. These new and exciting lessons will be used in all areas of learning such as: math, science, Language Arts, and writing. The classes will be adapted to teach the needs of my students with disabilities.
These classes are fantastic opportunities to advance my knowledge of the foundations I need to provide the most efficient and effective learning environment for my students!
I am thrilled to get this opportunity to learn and collaborate with colleges in the same field of education to optimize productivity and understanding of new data in our field of study. I am always eager to further my education and continue to learn while refreshing my outlook on teaching.
