My Students

My students love to come to school, where for some of them it's the only place they feel safe and loved. I love teaching them and they are not without their challenges. So many of them have lived a life I could never imagine. Their eagerness and enthusiasm to learn make me strive to find a variety of programs and materials to enhance the curriculum so they can enjoy learning so much more. My students come with a variety of skill levels since some this is their first experience with school and they lack the basic foundation to move forward with their education.

My Project

My students need a color printer to help improve their writing. With a printer readily available in the classroom, they can not only print their writing pieces but add pictures to it as well. When students see their work in full color, it inspires them to continue to do better. Even reluctant writers will want to write more, simply because they can show pride in their work on display. I could also use the printer to print photos of class projects and trips, which will remind students all they have learned and how far they have come throughout the year.

When student work and their pictures are placed around the classroom, they feel like they belong, and like they are more a part of a community.

This simple piece of equipment has the potential to bring so much life to our classroom. The possibilities and potential are endless in a classroom with a color printer.
