Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are kindergarten through 5th grade who have a diagnosis of autism. Students with autism have high sensory needs and can experience overstimulation, which can lead to increased behavior. Our students sometimes need practice self-regulating in all environments so we practice basic yoga.

The balls and mats will provide the tools we need to teach our students breathing techniques, balancing skills, focus, and self awareness.

The skills yoga provide to supporting self-regulation will remain with each student through their lifetime with continued practice. We are grateful for your support.
