This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I am the Restorative Justice Teacher. My classroom is the model for teachers to observe Restorative Practices with their students. Oftentimes, teachers send students out of their rooms when they misbehave. I would like to have a Calm Corner to demonstrate that students can remain in the room, yet tend to their needs. Students have a safe designated area to calm down, emote, regulate, focus, etc.

Students need to be taught healthy coping skills so they don't engage in impulsive behaviors that have lasting consequences.

The materials I'm requesting will provide students with resources they need to process their strong emotions. Please help me give my students resources to help regulate their emotions with breathing balls, wiggle seat cushions, and mini emotion plush toys.
