My Students

We are a small, K-8 Title I public school in a culturally diverse neighborhood in New York City. The majority of our students come from low-income households. It is so important that we give our students the best opportunities and supplies so they can do their best in school.

My Project

My students will use these fantastic clay kits to develop their self-expression, create three dimensional artwork, and engage in social and emotional learning in the art classroom. The air dry clay kits will be used in the classroom and also at home for continued art creation at home!

Art education allows a different type of engagement in the classroom that opens students up to social and emotional learning.

Clay sculpting is not only fun and educational, it also allows more time for peaceful thinking, reflection, and opportunities for feedback and questioning in the classroom.

Students will create a project in school and be able to keep the clay kits to take home to share their knowledge with families and siblings. This can help out students to engage more with their family at home and join in a fun project together!
