My Project

Help our special education community by supporting our students' mental health! Our students are in great need of a self confidence boost. We are a special education program, serving students with multiple disabilities and limitations. All of our students receive counseling support services and are working on transitional goals to lead to future employment opportunities. As a vocational based high school, we believe that job skills are embedded in our daily goals and worksite-based settings. We also believe that if students love themselves, their confidence will shine through all the daily activities and worksites they attend as part of a WorkStudy learning program. Help us give our students water bottles, proper hygiene skills and support our counseling services by providing essential hygiene tool kits, to help students learn self-care and self-love to lead to confidence and healthy well beings.

If students feel good and present themselves with respect, this can lead to improved mental health and confidence to try new things within their learning community.

We want to create hygiene kits with sensory tools kits which will include stress balls, to get through those difficult times with daily mindfulness and breathing exercises. Our kits will also include hygiene daily essentials, to make students responsible for their self-care and start to encourage a sense of self-respect. Looking good and smelling refreshed supports emotional intelligence and can help teenagers' mental wellbeing and self-image. We are requesting deodorant, hairbrushes, toothbrush travel kits, menstrual pads, menstrual purses and stress balls to create daily essential care packages to support our students' mental health, self-image and daily living skills so they are always fresh and refreshed when leaving our school and entering daily worksites as part of a work study learning program.
