My Students

I miss my students and they miss me! We said goodbye to one another on March 13th and many of us have been interacting through a combination of digital platforms ever since. Although it is a very different experience, I have been having some rich interactions with some of my students. However, this pandemic has highlighted inequities.

Some of my students and their families are facing tremendous hardships right now.

We are not able to meaningfully connect for digital learning. Some do not have reliable wifi. Some have parents who are working many hours. Some are facing health crises or other hardships that make them unavailable for learning.

My Project

Some of my students are facing extreme challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to a variety of extenuating circumstances, I have not been able to connect with all of my students. As their PE teacher, I am deeply concerned about their wellness.

These care packages will provide the students that are not connecting through online platforms with the tools to engage in self-care and stress management.

These are important life skills to develop at any time. But right now, they are urgent, vital, and essential. In addition, care packages always tell the recipients that they are special and someone is thinking about them!
