Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderful little people using education as a path to a brighter future. They attend school, not five, but six days a week and are bussed in from neighborhoods that others might intentionally avoid.

100% of the kids receive free breakfast and lunch, as well as food bags on weekends.

A majority of the students are ELLs and require accommodations to ensure their success at school. They are hard-working, dedicated learners, just trying to improve their lives through education.

My Project

As student's become more antsy and their attention spans grow shorter, it is important that they have an opportunity to release their energy, without distracting others.

These seating options, standing desks and active stools allow my more fidgety learners the space they need to stretch and move.

They do not have to worry about distracting others or what they will do if they have to sit in one more desk for another 2+ hours. Small changes like this can make all the difference for a young learner who isn't sure how to suppress their energy any longer. It will be a small weight lifted from their already burdened shoulders.
