Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderful, creative, amazing human beings. We all live in the same town and are so proud of our city and the school family we have at NSW. I have curious learners who spend their days immersed in thoughtful and inquisitive learning.

Third grade is an amazing time for growth and I am so proud to see my students transition from timid second graders to full on independent learners in a matter of months.

I am also in admiration of everything they continue to teach me.

My Project

This past year and a half has been a tremendous learning journey for my students. They have faced obstacles that we, as adults, never faced while we were in school. Coming back to school has been a joyful time for them, but there are still a lot of emotions that need to be resolved and cared for like anxiety, fear, sadness, and anger.

I want to have a calm spot in our classroom where students can go if they need some time to reflect or to calm down.
