Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are goofy, silly, funny, emotional, frustrated, energetic, impulsive, and craving someone to care about them. My classroom consists of 10 students with special needs and 15 students of mixed English language learners and general education students. This makes it difficult to meet the various needs of the students in my classroom.

I do my very best to make each child feel special and assure them they can do it.

My school has a huge population of low socioeconomic students, as well as children in shelters. It would be great to give these students a chance and an opportunity to meet their optimal potential.

My Project

During these trying times, the biggest dream for a teacher is to see her students' smile again. Our little one's smiles have gotten lost in their sadness. They are craving togetherness and unfortunately that is not something we can give them right now. My biggest concern is that if they stay sad for too long, they will never remember how to be happy.

Nothing fills a teacher's heart more than when her students smile and beam with confidence.

We would LOVE your help in giving us calming materials and an art outlet to get rid of some of our sadness. Although we need to remain 6ft away from our friends, having an outlet for our fears and worries could make all the difference. I would love to have sensory viewers, activity balls and cuddle balls to help calm my students at their most scared times. Having art spinners with accessories will teach my students that they can put their emotions into their art instead of leaving them heavy on their hearts.
