Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom is dedicated to the social emotional learning of all the high school students at Coronado. Students are able to attend group once a week to learn emotion regulation skills. I also offer yoga and meditation during non-class hours.

I would like all my students to have access and the tools to a social emotional learning environment.

I think having supplies for students to use also makes the room inviting to reach more students.

The cups and tea will be used for students to help themselves to hot tea and honey before group. The photo printer will be for students to print pictures for the space that reflect how they connect to campus. The sensory stickers will be used for students to help them cope during panic moments. The notebooks and pens will be used for journaling.

The emotional success of students also impacts their academic abilities which is important in life.
