Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students have read books they may enjoy, but often don't see themselves represented in the characters. Some students deal with emotions that they can't talk about or describe.

This is why my students need to read SEL books and books about other students who look like them.

By providing reading books that represent them like Ruby Bridges and Frida Kahlo, my students will someday have a chance to write their own stories.

Technology and devices are taking over our students' attention, but a book is a tool that should not be replaced.

By providing Latin and African American books in our class, students will have the opportunity to write and speak to others about their customs and traditions.
