Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students love learning through stories! Books allow students to have conversations and make connections to each other. We often talk about topics that can be challenging for them but through their love of stories they begin to grasp the topics. My students encourage each other to share and make connections with each book we read. Creating posters together gives them ownership of our learning and gives us opportunities to review what we have talked about.

Most of my students are English language learners and the pictures in books allow them to make connections.

Writing books allow students the opportunity to look back on what they have wrote to see the improvement. Students love creating and sharing their sentences with each other!
