This project will help students develop property maintenance skills, social/emotional skills and ADL skills. When students work and maintain the garden it aids in the student's mental well-being by providing them a beautiful, calm place in our school that is student run and kept. Students will have the opportunity to plant, grow and harvest fresh fruits and vegetables. Students will use these fruits and vegetable to create healthy snacks for school and home. The students will also learn valuable social emotional skills, math, science and ELA skills. Students will continue to build their SEL skills by engaging with one another and the community. Students will encourage communication through the use of their preferred method of communication. Students will use these skills to help them find employment after graduation from high school.
