Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The world beyond our school's blue double doors are bursting with colors. I intend to use the printer to allow some of that color to splash onto our classroom walls. A color printer will allow me to create visual aids for students to connect learning to the outside world as they see it.

The wonderous eyes of the child is looking beyond the school and into a world full of color and light.

At the preschool level it is imperative that children use visual aids to make meaning of the world around them. Many of our students are Multi-Lingual Learners and in order to meet their needs I need to be able to communicate with them through various methods, that which includes visual aids. At this age students are still processing and developing language, the use of visuals allows them to make connections between words and objects and ideas. Take a second to think about what it would be like if you were in a country where you did not know the language, you would be able to discern that there spoken words are being used but you would seek out visuals to help you make connections. The classroom is a new world for preschool students and they need all of the visuals that they can use to help them succeed!
