Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a curious, fun, and motivated group of second graders! It is a small, bilingual Spanish, special education class (12:1), comprised of students with different learning needs, including speech and language impairment, autism, and sensory deficits. They love participating in classroom lessons, but need visual support daily in order to do so. Our school is located in a low-income, high-need community. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch. The truth is, we just can't afford to buy all of the supplies needed to help differentiate instruction to meet the needs of struggling learners.

The rolling whiteboard and accompanying supplies will help me provide my students with the visual supports they need during phonics, reading, and writing instruction.

They will be able to participate in shared writing activities with the chart paper and I will be able to display anchor charts with ease in the area where students are working in the classroom.
