My Students

Once upon a time, a female frog laid clusters of eggs in the water. Tiny tadpoles hatched from the eggs. As the tadpole grew, it developed legs. The tadpole became a froglet. The froglet grew into an adult frog. THE END! Ribbit! Ribbit!

My students are at risk, however, they are eager to learn.

They love the use of hand-on activities. We are located in the Black Belt of Alabama. Alabama's Black Belt includes some of the poorest counties in the United States. Along with high rates of poverty, the area is typified by declining populations, high unemployment, poor access to education and medical care, substandard housing and high rates of crime.

My Project

What better way to learn about the life cycle of a frog, than to see it! The students will play games as they learn how a frog grows. Most importantly, the students will get a firsthand look at the development of a frog through the use of the two Planet Frog Habitats. It is important for students to understand the cycle of life and its recurrence in the world around them.

Donations to this project will bring pictures and words to life for my students.

Children are naturally curious about the world around them. There is a magical quality to such unusual observations. Children love to hold, touch, and see the things they learn about out in the real world.
