These telescope will allow students authentic access to the world of astronomy. Students will make observations that verify learning objectives during class. Students will also use these telescope to make observations which will lead to authentic inquiry where students discover fundamental theories in modern astronomy. Many students have never been to an observatory, this will bring the opportunity to them! These telescope with with smart phones so integration with our online systems is easy to achieve. My classes are large so having multiple telescope will allow students to make more observations each class. Another goal for this project is to make dark sky observations over several dates outside of school hours which show students to see how our world fits into the larger universe as historical figures once did!
