My Project

One of the things that I love to do with my 2nd graders is plant seeds. I love to see how my students care for their seeds and wait impatiently for them to grow. Students in past years have taken to singing songs to the seeds to help them grow.

I am asking for the resources we need to be able to plant seeds for each student in the 2nd grade in my school.

Each student would get a peat pot, seeds soil and a label. We use the seed starter container to water our seeds and keep them in a controlled environment until the seeds sprout. Once the seeds sprout, we send the seeds home for students to grow with their families. I love doing this project with my students. My students learn about the life cycle of a flower as well as learn some responsibility for taking care of their seed.
