Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a very witty group of 4 boys with special needs. My boys learn very well but, they learn differently. They are all very unique in each of their ways. None of them are similar in any way which makes the class fun and engaging every day. Everyday I leave the classroom as a learner as well, because my students show me how special they are in their own special way.

I never leave class without a funny story, silly joke, or smile on my face.

They love imaginary play, dancing, and learning through movement. I love how different each of my students are and how through their uniqueness they are teaching me. My students are sensitive to loud noises, need structure, and changes in schedules are hard. Making these transitions smooth throughout the day, help my students learn even when things don’t flow as smoothly.

My Project

Students with exceptional learning abilities learn, but they learn differently. As educators we must focus on opening a path with their current abilities to further encompass a sea of learning. Some of the items requested such as a trampoline, basketball hoop, football, and soccer ball will be used for structured recess. When children are motivated to learn, they enjoy it.

Some of my items are cushions for the floor during reading time, which will make reading fun.

The fun seats will make a boring task more enjoyable. Other items like the Book Shelf Organizer, pocket chart, and pencils, are used to structure the environment in ways they can learn best.
