My Students

Imagine your excitement to hear your voice and see yourself on screen through a digital recorder! My students love technology and it inspires them to work hard on fluency and comprehension. If that device helped you practice math facts and do research online too, it would be irresistible!

We are a class of average-skilled students striving to be our absolute best by building on each others' strengths.

Our area of town is riddled with violent crimes and abject poverty, but we show up to school and try to focus on learning all day long. Our class works together to master reading strategies, problem solving strategies, and science projects. We are an interactive, hands-on community.

My Project

The computers in our classroom are old, slow, and frustrating to use. iPods would give us another access point to the internet for basic skills practice and research to enrich our knowledge base. The portability will increase our usage as we can work throughout the room, building, and even the outdoor classroom! Once we record reader's theaters and other literary reenactments, they can be privately viewed and analyzed for improvement on the iPods. Plus, who could pass up the chance to provide a Michael Jackson dance for third graders on a rainy Friday afternoon?

Having access to an iPod in class will increase my students' interest in mastering basic facts (like multiplication) that are necessary for other growth through fun aps as well as provide them with a voice recorder for performances and analysis of said performances.

The portability of it will allow privacy and focus that will lead to a deeper understanding of the content and an opportunity for each child to do his/her best!
