Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is a diverse melting pot full of many different personalities, learning styles, and interests. Our school is a Title I school in a low-income area. 88.4% of our students are from families living far below the poverty line. 54.8% of our students are English language learners.

My Project

My students come from a wide range of backgrounds. Since we have been distance learning, it has been hard for the students to connect with each other. The multicultural books introduce the students to the diverse people and cultures that make up our world and classroom. These books celebrate the many qualities they share and the differences that make them unique!

The STEM books feature diverse characters that bring STEM concepts to life in a fun and relatable way.

Having more engaging and diverse books in my classroom will help increase student interest and create lifelong readers. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will give me access to thousands of resources to extend learning beyond the books in my virtual and, once they return, in-person classroom.
