Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The remarkable growth and integrity of these students in such scary and unstable times is inspirational and what I love so much about them. The whiteboards, markers, and headsets are materials we use multiple times during the school day and are imperative to small group work and independent learning.

These students deserve to have equipment that fosters their learning and shows that their education is valued.

Right now, the whiteboards we have in our classroom are old and worn out. It is impossible to get them fully clear of old marker scuffs and some have cracks in them. We use these boards for phonics and math lessons. In math, the students use the boards with partners to tackle math problems and share their work. The headsets are used in independent stations. Students can listen to audio books, which is great for all students, but especially English Language Learners. They take comprehension quizzes on the books they read and it helps to have them hear the questions and be able to focus and be free from the noise of other students on their computers.

These materials are so important to the daily learning of these fourth grade students and we appreciate any support we can get to ensure another year of growth.
