My Project

The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Using the workshop model in math, students come to the rug with whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. However, studies have shown that standing while working increases the student's chance of success. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work.

During instruction, my students love to work out difficult problems on my classroom whiteboard, but there is never enough room for each small group to work.

They love becoming the teacher and showing me along with their classmates what they know. These large, mounted whiteboards will provide my students the opportunity to work within their groups and will increase their engagement and participation. These items will also allow my students to confidently display their strategies and models so they can become independent workers.
