This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are the best! I wouldn't ask for anything different. They are amazing! My students are energetic, loving, and kind! When I enter the classroom, my students are ready and eager to learn. They are technologically savvy and quick thinkers! My students are respectful, caring and helpful to anyone who enters their classroom. They are my sponges ready to soak up any information that they can. I work in a disadvantaged community in the South Bronx. Although their community is disadvantaged, I strive to change that when they enter my classroom. I like make sure they have everything they need to be educated like the schools in more affluent neighborhoods.

My Project

Recently, our class was funded in support of creating a classroom where each student has a Chromebook available to use throughout the day. We use our Chromebooks to support our English Language Learners and the Special Education population. The students are able to use software to enhance the skills that need to be improved upon. While we reached a point where our class is halfway to our goal, our Chromebook availability is 1 for every 2 students. But now one of our laptops turned up missing due to the inability to secure the Chromebooks and charge at the same time. The laptops must stay out and charge over night in the classroom. In order to prevent this from happening again and make sure we can charge the Chromebooks in preparation for the next day, we need to be able to secure our tech and charge our Chromebooks at the same time. Thus having a cart which we can lock and charge each day will help support the needs of our classroom.
