My Students

When you are introduced to my district, you see the side that everyone wants you to see: Smart Boards built into the white boards, technology advanced classrooms, ELMO desktop writers, projectors, and all the little gizmos and gadgets you can think of. When you enter my district, which employs over 9,000 men and women, and educates over 170 square miles worth of children, you see the side they want you to see.

When you enter my school, you see a different side.

My district is, for the most part, well off. My school lacks the basic needs for a fully efficient classroom. Our computer lab is in the process of being shut down, leaving us with one working laptop cart that has glitches and two, always booked iPad carts. In a school with over three hundred students, that is simply not enough.

Many of my students come from homes that do not have electricity, running water, or a "normal" four family home. Many of my students come to school to learn, but I come to help them receive the inspiration, education, and love that they deserve.

My Project

After Ripple so graciously funded the remaining portion of my last project, I am ready to start the second part to the master plan! Ripple donated the last $1,290 to fully fund my project of obtaining fifteen laptop/tablet computers. Now that I have the computers, there is one piece left.. security!

I am raising money for fifteen Bluetooth, wireless mouse controllers for the computers as well as a lockable, charging cabinet to hold all of the supplies in.

With your generous help to continue the last portion of my fundraiser goal, I will have a fully working laptop set up in my English Language Arts classroom.
