Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need to learn to read before heading to the next grade. To meet this goal, I want to use the Secret Stories to engage my young learners to learn phonics sounds/skills.

In order to ensure my students can read it is important to give them access to phonics sounds that support advanced reading and writing skills.

The Secret Stories is a supplemental resource that will enable the teacher to best equip students with phonics sounds that will increase their ability to read. While the Secret Stories is not a curriculum it is a resource that engages students in learning phonics skills, like vowel teams, in a fun and developmentally appropriate way so they can read and spell words that they may not otherwise learn to read before the next year.
