My Students

I am a 2nd grade teacher at PS 109 Glenwood Academy. My school serves children in the community of south Flatbush Brooklyn NY. My students are bright, bubbly and energetic, with the most beautiful personalities. Year to year I have been fortunate to have students who enter my classroom ambitious and eager to acquire knowledge. Their eagerness and enthusiasm to learn, make my passion for teaching more fulfilling.

Unfortunately, my school is a Title I school which means that the majority of my students fall far below the poverty line.

Many of them reside in the local shelters. Although their parents/guardians try to meet the needs of their family especially their children, they are unable to successfully meet their needs.

My administrators work hard in trying to help parents and teachers obtain much needed resources, however there is still a deficit that needs to be fulfilled.

My Project

I have been teaching virtually this year and although it has not been an easy task, my students and I are making the best of it, and enjoying our daily virtual learning experiences, especially our Fun Fridays.

As I continue this virtual journey with my students, I am in need of a second monitor.

This second monitor will support me in facilitating interactive live instructions with my students. By having a second monitor, I will be able to use my laptop to see my entire class while using the second monitor to share my lessons and manage other programs, such as jam-board and Peardeck.
