My students LOVE reading but I want to make it special for them. Do you remember listening to stories on cassette tape? I remember listening to a story and it would make it "come alive". I was able to visualize the story and connect with the book. I want to give my students the same experience.
I have 24 second graders and they are AMAZING!
My students are hardworking and love to learn. Our school is low-income and is part of a small district. We are one of two second grade classes in our building. Many students are on free and reduced lunch and our student body is diverse.
My Project
My students will use these materials once a week as part of our Reading centers. The CD player, headphones, and books sets with CDs will help build fluency and will focus on comprehension. These components of reading are where my students need the most practice.
My students have a 90 minute Reading block and I need these materials to keep my Reading centers interesting and fun!
While having fun, my students will be building their skills in reading comprehension and fluency.
