Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are inquisitive, eager young learners. Ranging from 6 to 7 years old, they are natives of the Caribbean Islands, Central America, and South America. My students have a pulsating thirst for gaining new skills and knowledge. They put 101% effort into all of their work, even when confronted with obstacles. When confronted with a challenge, class 1-2 likes to say it is “coo-coo bananas,” and tackle it as a united front. With every success, no matter how big or small, the students “kiss their brains” and “hug their hearts” for a job well done.

My Project

Although it is summer and school is out, I am already thinking and planning for the Fall. I will be moving up to grade two with most of my students who are eager to become second grade super stars! The materials listed such as the paper cutter, laminator, and adhesive dots will help me to plan instructional materials for my students that are inviting and will last all year-long. Assorted markers and Astrobright paper will be used by both myself and my students to engage and support learning. Your donations will be used to create reading and math strategy posters, worksheets, and homework. We will even be able to bring writing to life by creating books for our class library. These materials are just what we need for a promising start to second grade!
