Second Grade Physicists!

My students need the force & motion activity tub to conduct hands-on investigations of this concept. The STEAM car kits will harness their creativity and challenge them to apply their knowledge of physics!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When the second graders walk into science class each week they are eager to investigate the world around them! They love learning all about the next type of scientists they will become. Real-world jobs that these different scientists can have is also very exciting to them. The deeper they dive "hand-first" into their investigations, they more engaged they become!

My students love scientific inquiry, experiments and investigations based on their own questions are especially fun!

At my school we do not allow the low-socioeconomic status of most of our students to hinder our progress. We provide authentic rigorous instruction, especially in the sciences!

My Project

The materials requested in this project will help my second grade scientists to become physicists! By engaging in hands-on investigations of force and motion, my students will gain a more complete understanding of this principal-- which is so important in all of our lives.

The donation of the STEAM cars will allow my students to show their understanding of force and motion while harnessing their artistic creativity too!

Additionally, the third grade students will get to enjoy these materials when they investigate simple machines!

The Engineering Process is an important practice in helping students to problem solve as well as work cooperatively. The donations from this project will not only enhance each child's science education, but improve their overall social-emotional skills too.
