My Students

Each day our second-grade students come to school ready and excited to learn! Our students come from various diverse backgrounds and for some English is their second language.

We are a tight-knit school community in Baltimore City that works hard to ensure that students are learning and finding their place in the world.

Despite the many challenges that students face they are kind, hardworking children that are curious and enthusiastic to learn! Together we are building skills that will inspire our students to being college and career ready as well as successful citizens one day!

My Project

This project will give students access to curriculum books that they can spend time reading and exploring! It will provide students with opportunities to look at photos or illustrations, and make connections to or wonder about words and phrases they don't know.

These module texts will allow for each student in our second-grade classrooms to have access to his or her own copy of the books.

Each module of the curriculum that we use requires second-graders to find text evidence to support their writing.

Students work at various paces and these books would ensure that students can explore texts and independently work without having to share copies.
