Seats for the Flexible Seating Classroom

My students need 4 Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats added to our flexible seating classroom. Flexible seating allows my students the choice to learn in a way that is best for them.

My Students

I teach first grade in a small farming town in Illinois. We have such a diverse students population. On one side of town, we have students who come from half-million-dollar homes and on the other side of town students who come from public-housing situations. 30% of our student population receives free and reduced price lunch and school fees. My goal for all my students is to give each and every one of them the same opportunity to learn with every advantage possible.

If I can accomplish one thing in the short time I have my students, it would be that know that I truly love and value them as individuals.

My Project

Flexible seating will gives my students the power to choose the seating option where they will learn best. This gives them ownership and control over their learning. My students make a choice each day on where they want to sit. They can sit on yoga balls, a couch, stools, or on floor pillows. Currently my floor pillows are flat and uncomfortable.

I would like to get 4 Flex-Space Floor chairs.

This will offer my students a comfy place at our lower table, but would also provide some back support.

Most of my students have issues with maintaining focus and attention. I have tried many things to increase their focus but nothing has worked as well as changing how they sit. Flexible seating has been an amazing benefit for my students.
