This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come in every day excited and ready to learn. In my class we work hard every day. My students are eager to please and thrive when they are praised.

All of my students are ELLs (English Language Learners) and students of low SES (socio-economic status) who do not have the resources and materials for learning at home.

Even with the added challenge of learning a second language, they make amazing gains every year. I am proud of all of my students, and I want to help set them up for success by creating a beneficial learning environment.

My Project

Imagine coming to school every day and sitting at a desk that doesn't quite fit you. Your desk is either too high or the chair legs wobble when you are doing your work. I teach at a large school, and finding desks with correct heights is very difficult. My students need 3 tables to replace the student desks. By using tables instead of desks my students will be able to sit at a table that fits them and will not wobble. I can also use the tables for flexible seating later on in the year. Flexible seating will allow my students to work in a space that fits their needs.
