This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

In classrooms, I think we all realize there needs to be different places for different activities. Having kids sit at a desk all day is unproductive. I have a little reading nook and now I am trying to have the perfect small group space. Sometimes when you have to meet with a few kids individually they are embarrassed but if I make the space the place to be everyone will want to do a small group. Having new chairs will make the kids want to be in this space. We know everyone is happier in a pretty environment so why not add the lanterns for a little ambiance? Having everything more comfortable and welcoming for the kids will also make it more appealing to them.
