This will be my 10th year working as a bilingual teacher at my elementary school. Our school is a Title I school. Each year my kids are more and more outgoing, and their excitement for learning continues to grow. I am a self-contained teacher and do as much integration of subjects and languages as possible.
My hope is for my kids to feel at home in our classroom and to have an atmosphere that helps them to stay attentive and excited for each day.
Flexible seating is a way to help make our reading area appealing, which would be great.
My Project
I enjoy letting my students have independent work and growth time throughout the day; however, our classroom is lacking comfortable and fun seating options to use around the classroom.
Students enjoy the freedom of choosing where they can sit to do work.
In every subject, but especially reading and math time, students are allowed to move around as they work. They especially love "sitting" around the room to read. It's crazy how a simple pillow or fun chair can motivate students' individual learning styles.
Your help will ensure a fun learning space for students in my classroom as well as other 4th grade students who come to visit.
