My Project

I am a second-year teacher who just learned I will be making the switch from 8th-grade science to Pre-K! I am so excited to be teaching Pre-K this year and want to make sure I am able to provide students with all the supplies they need to be successful in school. My classroom is an 8:1:3 (8 students, 1 teacher, 3 aids) for students with autism. Tools like a daily schedule, visual aids like number lines, and appropriately sized scissors and crayons are needed to help my students preform to the best of their abilities.

The transition into school can be stressful enough for students and parents, and I want to make everything as fun and easy as possible!

Coming from teaching science, I'm looking for ways to incorporate STEM in as many ways as possible. Being able to watch seeds sprout and grow is such a rewarding experience especially for children who have never seen this before. Supplies like a rug, chart stand, child friendly magnets and magnifying glasses will help will help my students to explore the world around them and have the best first year of school experience.
