My students need seat sacks to help organize their materials. My first grade students do not have traditional desks where they can place things they need inside. Seat sacks are great for organization!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My 1st grade class is comprised of 25 students. They are a diverse group of students with various academic and social needs. For example, I have a few students who receive speech, academic intervention services, live in shelters, or go to after school programs because their parents can't help them with homework.
As their teacher, I want my students to enjoy learning and strive to be anything they want to be.
These 5-6 year olds are eager to soak up learning. They have the, "I think I can attitude." Do you remember the book, The Little Engine that Could? I'd love for my class to say, "I knew I could," at the end of the year.
My Project
The furniture in my first grade classroom consists of tables that seat four to six students. They are not traditional desks that allow students to have a place to store their school supplies.
Seat sacks will help my students organize their materials.
Each student will have his or her own seat sack to place their pencil cases, notebook, workbooks, and folders. These little ones need items like this to help them with their learning and build good work habits. They'll always be prepared for class. They'll always know where their things belong. They will also learn responsibility. Seat sacks pack a lot!
