My Students

Due to the pandemic, teaching will be a bit different for us as a class. We will not be together as a class and will be broken up into different cohorts. I am not sure if this year they will know each other as a class. This will be a unique experience for them since they are so dependent on being together and a lot of them have been in school together since preschool. Although it may be different, they are ready to take on the challenge and eager to get back into the classroom.

My school is New York City which was one of the cities hit hardest by COVID-19.

Throughout the pandemic, my students have been dedicated to learning and showing up to class remotely always with a smile. As a class, we would meet up three times a week through zoom and they could not wait for the next meeting. They are a wonderful group and I am looking forward to another great school year.

My Project

Through these unprecedented times, we need to be innovative to connect with each other due to social distancing. Gone are the days of working closely with other students in groups or partners, which my students thrive in that environment. We will need to increase our incorporation of technology to meet the needs of the class and students.

By using technology students can submit their work, give each other feedback and work in small groups to complete a project, while still social distancing.

By donating to our project, you will increase our ability to use technology in the classroom to foster the need for collaborative learning. Students will be entering the classroom and it will be very different than what they are used to.
