Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I currently offer shell painting to all students. I collect local sea shells and the students paint them to give as gifts and/or to hide for strangers to find. The activity is popular among students.

These supplies will allow students to make decoupaged shells using tissue paper as the base layer design.

They can then practice painting skills by adding additional paint details. Students will be invited to design and make holiday ornaments with the different themed tissue papers. The Dremel will be used to drill a hole in the shells to add a ribbon for hanging. Students can donate shells to random strangers or take them for loved ones.
