Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

An Apple IPAD in our classroom will provide students with a resource for inclusive and diverse content in the classroom and enhance student learning. The IPAD will be used for in-person learning because of limited laptops and chargers at our schools.

Students will be able to use the class IPAD for a Spanish project/presentation on diverse identities in Spanish-speaking countries.

How do others identify themselves when binary pronouns are in place in such countries? And to also think critically about what they feel, and explore other multifaceted identities (racial, ethnic, gender, LGBTQ) in Spanish-speaking countries.

It would be an awesome addition to the classroom. Students will be more engaged when interacting with technology using this class iPad. The possibilities are endless for my students with access to the kind of technology in the classroom.

Having access to this technology will empower them to learn new life skills and feel affirmed, loved, and seen, and often, educators are the only people in students’ lives who do this for them. More than ever, students will look to their classrooms, albeit from home, as safe spaces in which they can be vulnerable, make mistakes, let their collective guards down, and be themselves.
