Sculpey Clay Creations: A Song

Sung to the tune: Row, row, row your boat

Go, go, go to school, each and everyday,

Busy, busy, busy hands, in the Sculpey clay.

Pound, pound, pound it flat, each and everyday,

Work, work, working hands, in the Scupley clay.

Roll, roll, roll it out, each and everyday,

Knead, knead, kneading hands in the Sculpey clay.

Cut, cut, cut it up, each and everyday,

Snip, snip, snipping hands, in the Sculpey clay.

Shape, shape, shape it up, each and every day,

Mold, mold, molding hands, in the Sculpey clay

Dry, dry, dry it out, each and every day,

Wait, wait, waiting hands. Go outside to play.

Paint, paint, paint it all, each and everyday,

Brush, brush, brushing hands, in the Sculpey clay

We are a happy bunch of little learners: creating, building, playing and communicating in our own unique ways. Playdoh is a favorite activity in our classroom that encourages creativity, boosts attention and focus, fosters language and communication, and strengthens fine motor skills. When we’re done, our creations are quickly squished back into a container, living only in our memories. We want to create more permanent products using a different kind of material, called Sculpey. It’s non-toxic, and feels like clay. It can air dry or be baked in a toaster oven, then painted, so our creations last! This project contributes to a well-rounded education that includes art!
