This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever wondered what teaching a combo class is like? Imagine teaching a tri-grade combo with 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students all at the same time. Can you picture it? If you can, welcome to my classroom.

Being in a tri-grade classroom has its challenges, but my students welcome it with open arms and incredible patience.

Our school is very small but is full of amazingly talented, bright, and unique students. They amaze me each and every day.

My Project

Reading doesn't always come naturally to everyone. Some students, and adults, can't stand it but reading is one of the best ways to go on an adventure. Having three grades in one room means I have a vary vast range of reading levels. The Roald Dahl books I am requesting vary in reading level.

These books will not only provide my students that sense of adventure, but will also give them the opportunities to find enjoyment in reading at an appropriate level.

With these books and folders I am requesting, I will be able to do Literature Circles based on reading ability, instead of grade. Some fourth graders can read and comprehend well above their grade level, while some read far below. The same is true with fifth and sixth grade.

Roald Dahl is an author that has written wonderful books at varying reading levels that children love. Though his books are witty and dynamic, the language he often uses can be challenging which is exactly what my students need.
